2nd Floor Sessions

Celebrate Women’s History Month with our Second Floor Sessions: a special series of dining experiences hosted on the 2nd floor of Hank’s Oyster Bar, Old Town, Alexandria.

Happening every Sunday in March, these one-of-a-kind events feature Hank’s Oyster Bar’s Chef and Owner Jamie Leeds in partnership with some incredible women in food & beverage, full of great food, great drinks, and great conversation.

$5 per ticket will go towards Re:HER a national non-profit driven by women and non-binary restaurateurs on a mission to empower and advance women, women of color, indigenous women, LGBTQ+ identifying women, and nonbinary food and beverage entrepreneurs.

Dive into the fun of Dim Sum!  This hands-on session starts with a dumpling making class led by founder & culture curator Susan Qin of the popular Union Market Pop-Up, Chinese Street Market.  Guests will make 2 different types of dumplings to take home, followed by a dim sum feast of traditional dumplings, buns, and sweets. Beverage pairings and a la carte options will be available for purchase.

The last but certainly not the least of our Women’s Month sessions!  Executive Chef Lucy Dakwar, Chef de Cuisine Sarah Ewald,  and Chef/Owner Katherine Thompson of Thompson Italian will partner with Jamie Leeds on an epic 5 course dinner.  Beverage pairings and a la carte options will be available for purchase.

Fried Chicken Sundays

Our New Year’s resolution is to stay delicious. So we’re starting off 2023 and brining back a guest favorite…Fried Chicken Sundays!

Starting January 1st and every Sunday after, dig in to our Chesapeake Fried Chicken Dinner, featuring a brined and deep fried half chicken with collard greens, mac & cheesy,  and potato salad plus our comeback and sweet & sour dipping sauces.

WE ARE BACK!!! After a two year hiatus, OYSTERFEST is back for our 13th year in the new location of Hank’s Oyster Bar, Old Town!

We could not be more excited and are pulling out ALL THE STOPS for OYSTERFEST THIRTEEN, the first at the new Hank’s Oyster Bar, Old Town, Alexandria: located at 818 N. St. Asaph Street.

Ticket price includes All-You-Can-Eat Oysters on the Half Shell, BBQ Oysters, Fried Oyster Sliders, Fried Chicken Sliders, Short Rib Sliders, Old Bay French Fries, Coleslaw, and our Mac n Cheesy! To quench your thirst our bar team will be on hand with All-You-Can-Drink Guiness, local Craft Beers, red, white and rose wines and a boozy OysterFest punch!

Event is rain or shine and will be held on all three levels of our space, including our roof top area.

Tickets are $120 all inclusive, plus an Eventbrite service fee.

Zhong Dumplings (钟水饺) with Pork and Shrimp

Zhong Dumplings are a famous street snack from Susan’s hometown of Chengdu, Sichuan. Susan has added shrimp to the traditional pork filling in honor of joining together with Jamie at Hank’s, and the dumplings are soaked in a red chili sauce based on Susan’s signature Chinese style chili oil.
